How long will the process take?
Creativity is a process. Sometimes designs go quickly, sometimes they take longer. I want each client to get my full and devoted attention. It is my belief that you can’t rush good design. When you make your deposit, I will give you a project start date and will do my best to honor that date and will keep in touch via email in the meantime.
Do you recommend Blogger or WordPress for a beginner?
It depends on your intentions. If you are creating this blog purely for fun, with no intentions of monetizing or gaining followers then a free Blogger.com blog would be a fine place to start. If you are serious about blogging, I would recommend starting on self-hosted WordPress. The most important thing to note is that on Blogger, your site can be shut down at any time by Google. With a self-hosted WordPress site, you control everything about your site. Functionally, both dashboards are easy to learn and use – with WordPress obviously offering more potential options.
Is there a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org?
WordPress.com is a website that offers free blogs, much like Blogger.com. However, the customization options are limited with a free account. To have access to change many of the design elements you need to sign up for a premium account and even then the customization possibilities are extremely limited. I do not design WordPress.com blogs.
WordPress.org offers the free WordPress software many web designers use to design blogs, and blogs that function as websites. Blogs that are built on WordPress software must be self-hosted, usually at a cost of $8-15 per month. The design services that I offer for WordPress use the WordPress.org software.
